Chicago Appleseed believes that one of the best ways to improving access to justice is to educate the public on their rights and responsibilities, as well as inform them of the legal services available in our area. To that end, we write and distribute several publications for the general population.

The Legal Services Directory (2008 edition)        How many:
Describes 150 private and governmental agencies providing free or low cost legal services.
$5.00 per copy ($3.00 for Council members)

The Tenant-Landlord Handbook (2002 edition)         How many:
Describes the rights and obligations of tenants and landlords in Chicago. The Fifth Edition is now available.
$15.00 per copy ($12.00 for Council members and contributors to the Chicago Appleseed Fund For Justice)

Wage Assignments and Wage Deduction Orders in Illinois (2005 edition)

How many:
Answers the commonly asked questions about a creditor's attempt to collect a debt by taking a portion of a debtor's wages.  A new edition will be available May 1, 2005.

The Chicago Appleseed Fund for Justice has joined with the Appleseed Foundation and Appleseed affiliates in Nebraska and Texas to develop and distribute a series of brochures aimed at increasing awareness and access to financial institutions.
