We appreciate your support!
Grant-based funding from foundations and corporations is becoming more scarce for non-profit organizations in these difficult economic times, even more so for those that focus on social justice issues through systemic reform efforts. Our supporters have responded: our spring fundraising campaign was a success with new and current donors pledging their support. Law firms and local companies also rose to the challenge at our 2008 Annual Luncheon, with many new sponsors joining our fight for equal justice for all in Cook County. Unfortunately, many corporate and grant-making foundations are unable to continue supporting area non-profit organizations at previous levels. As they cut back on their funding, Chicago Appleseed must look for new sources of revenue to continue our quality programs. This means that we rely on our individual donors now more than ever before.
In your year-end giving, we urge you to think of Chicago Appleseed. We use both staff and volunteers to tackle problems affecting Illinois residents: by objectively analyzing problems plaguing our communities, and by working with key players to determine the best way to move forward. We develop pragmatic and sustainable solutions, and advocate for reform and changes that guarantee rights for all. With your help, Chicago Appleseed can continue our necessary and needed programs in the areas of criminal justice system reform, financial access and higher education for minority and low-income families, parental involvement in education, and voter education in judicial elections in Cook County. Our efforts, with your financial support, make a difference in Chicago and throughout Illinois. Please, make a tax-deductible contribution to Chicago Appleseed today.
