Chicago Appleseed Creates Consumer Rights in Illinois Brochures to Educate Residents

Chicago Appleseed is pleased to be part of a national collaborative grant from the Western Union Foundation to the Appleseed Network for the Financial Access and Education program. Chicago Appleseed's portion of the funding will be used to create, print and distribute the brochure Consumer Rights in Illinois: Answering the questions about where to go and who to contact for financial matters in the State of Illinois. The brochure, printed in English and Spanish, will educate consumers on how to remedy unfair, illegal and fraudulent business practices, and be distributed through partnerships with community organizations.

Consumer Rights in Illinois lists contact information for the resources available to residents in the event of problems or questions related to currency exchanges, payday lending, auto title lending, predatory lending, mortgage awareness programs, and more. Download the brochures free of charge at www.chicagoappleseed.org.
