National Futures Association and Chicago Appleseed publish new Spanish-language guide to help individuals identify and avoid investment scams

National Futures Association announced that it has published a new Spanish-language version of its investor education booklet entitled "Scams and Swindles: An Educational Guide to Avoiding Investment Fraud." The guide describes common characteristics of investment scams and outlines steps individuals can take to avoid them. The Spanish version of "Scams and Swindles" was produced in partnership with Chicago Appleseed Fund for Justice.

"Unfortunately, investment fraud can occur in every community," says NFA's Senior Vice President of Strategic Planning and Communications Karen Wuertz. "We are pleased to provide this very important information in a format that will reach a wider population."

NFA is the industrywide self-regulatory organization for the U.S. futures industry. Founded in 1982, NFA has developed innovative and efficient regulatory programs and services designed to safeguard the integrity of the futures markets and protect investors.

Single copies of both the English and Spanish versions of "Scams and Swindles" are offered free of charge. Individuals may order a copy of the publication by calling NFA's Information Center toll-free at 800-621-3570 or by emailing NFA at information@nfa.futures.org.
